

Infant Jesus Feast at Carmel
Hill, Mangalore
The annual feast of Infant Jesus was celebrated with dedication and devotion in
the Infant Jesus Shrine, Carmel Hill, Bikkarnakatta here on January 14. More
than fifty Thousand devotees thronged the shrine of Infant Jesus and offered
prayers to seek His divine intervention and blessings. Seven masses - in
Malayalam, Kannada, English and Konkani - were held throughout the day and
devotees flocked to the church from the morning. The festive mass was celebrated
by Bishop of Asansol West Bengal, Dr Cyprian Monis along with 50 concelebrants.
Director Carmel Jyoti Trust, Bellary Fr Rajesh D'Souza in his homily urged the
devotees to rediscover their faith. We have to rediscover the faith on Jesus
Christ and his teachings. We have to give up our ego, jealousy and greed, and
strengthen our faith in Jesus because faith means experience of God,
relationship with God, choice and search of God. During the profession of faith,
they renewed their baptismal vows holding high a lit candle given to them by the
Bishop as a sign of their faith. This year the Shrine, has contributed a house
to a very poor family. Fr. Archi, handed over the key. Fr. Pius James D’Souza

Annual Feast of Infant Jesus
Celebrated at Sadbhavana, Bangalore
The Carmel Family in Bangalore solemnized the Annual Feast of the Infant Jesus
at Sadbhavana on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at 10-00 am. The festal mass was
presided over by Rev. Fr. Archibald Gonsalves, Provincial Superior. Fr. Joachim
Rodrigues preached an inspiring homily on the theme “Professing Faith,
Proclaiming Christ” citing the various aspects of our faith. Sixteeen Carmelite
priests concelebrated and the liturgy was animated by Fr. Vinod Lobo. The Carmel
Choir raised the hearts and minds of the devotees through their melodious
singing. After the spiritual celebration, the new album “Mog tuzo puro” and the
book “Suryachi Kirna” were released. Thereafter some group games were conducted
and at 1-00 pm the faithful shared the festal meal sponsored by the Carmel
Family. There were around 400 people from the Silicon city who received
blessings of the Infant Jesus.
